Ships and ferries

Passenger ships sail from Kochi. You book tickets in your own name, once you have your permit.

How booking works

Ship tickets are sold on IRCTC Lakshadweep. The old LAKPORT booking site has been shut down.5

  1. Get your permit before you book a ship. The booking asks for your permit number and is rejected if it doesn't match the permit's dates or islands.6
  2. Register on IRCTC Lakshadweep with the last 4 digits of your Aadhaar and a mobile OTP.7
  3. Tickets open 7–30 days before sailing.3
  4. Up to 5 passengers per ticket, chosen from the travellers linked to your permit.8
  5. Web check-in is mandatory and closes 8 hours before a Kochi departure.9

You book ship tickets in your own account. The booking terms don't allow agents to book for you.10
